Everett is the north end of the corridor we work. The run up I-5 is straightforward outside commute hours, and the work up there is a different mix from Seattle's.
The ground in Everett
The low ground along the Snohomish river delta is soft and wet, with the water table close enough to the surface to matter on anything deep.
The older part of the city sits up on a peninsula on firmer ground, in a tight grid of streets with narrow lots.
South and east of the city the work is newer and more open — more clearing and pad preparation, less demolition.
Areas we work in Everett
Access and terrain change a job more than anything else does. These are the parts of Everett we get called to and what each one usually means for the work.
- Riverside and the delta flats
- Soft, wet ground. Anything deep needs shoring and often dewatering, and the schedule has to allow for it.
- North Everett
- The old grid. Narrow lots, alley access, and mature trees that complicate a machine's approach.
- Waterfront and industrial
- Open, flat, filled ground with the space to stage material properly.
- South Everett and Silver Lake
- Newer, more suburban lots. Pad prep, driveways and utility runs rather than teardowns.
